Stiles felt like he hadn't really done enough for Derek's birthday. Sure he had ordered Chinese food (and hadn't spilled any carrying it up to the bedroom) and, yeah, he broke out the Die Hard DVD to watch (epitome of romance, right there) but he felt like it wasn't enough. Probably because hadn't gotten (or could afford) a gift that wasn't a homemade card.

Though there was one of those too sitting on the dresser.

Look, he was a college kid, he had to make do with limited resources.

"I'm in for the long haul," Derek replied quietly. "With you."

"I know," he said, kissing the back of Derek's neck. "Me too."

Derek relaxed against him, arms curling over Stiles' to keep them in place. "I don't need gifts or new sex things. Just you."

"Thank god," Stiles said. "'Cause after forty or fifty years we're gonna definitely run out of ideas."

Derek ducked his head as he smiled at that. "I'm sure once we hit things that don't work for us, it'll happen sooner than that."

"Hitting things that don't work for us," he repeated. "I'm sure there's something out there."

"I'm pretty sure I don't want to call you names, so there's one off the list," Derek replied. "And I don't share well. So that's another."

"Aww, you don't want to call me baby or honeybunch or pumpkin spice?" Stiles teased.

"Not so much," Derek replied dryly. "Kate used them a lot."

"Sorry," he said quietly.

Derek rolled so he could face him, staying obnoxiously close still. "You're not her."

Which should have be super clear, but he needed to voice out loud.

"I know." He was in no way that psychotic. Unless he happened to be possessed.

Derek nodded, pressing in for a quick kiss. "I trust you."

"Good. I trust you too," he murmured. "I don't ever want to hurt you."

"I'm really glad we're--that you're here."

Oh god, they're were so sappy after sex.

It was the endorphins. Or something.

"Me too," he said, kissing him again. "You're pretty much the best thing that's happened to me."

Derek snorted, snuggling the hell out if him. "Likewise."
