Beacon Hills High | Day
![]() The nogitsune |
It had taken two days and a side trip to Fandom, but the nogitsune's plans were all set. Soon there'd be pain and chaos and in the process of that he'd be getting rid of Derek, Chris Argent and a maybe a few other annoyances if he was lucky. Now to pull the trigger. The nogitsune was in the basement of the high school, toying with one of Argent's sonic emitters. He flicked it on with a smile. Here we go. |
Scott |
Scott and the twins had heard the noise from a floor up and followed it down to the basement. Stiles had been missing for two days and the last place Scott had expected to see him was in the basement of the high school, holding an object usually used by hunters. Yeah it wasn't the most innocent position to be in. Scott could feel the twins getting agitated behind him. |
"Stiles" |
The nogitsune's shoulders slumped and he held up his hands, melting back into Stiles' persona. "Okay, I know what you guys are thinking but it's me," he said. "I swear to god it's me." |
Ethan and Aiden |
Ethan and Aiden let out two twin growls and rushed towards Stiles. The two slammed Stiles against some old lockers and forcefully lifted him from the ground. They didn't seem to notice he wasn't putting up a fight when, theoretically, a nogitsune should be able to fight back. |
Scott |
Scott ran towards the commotion, pulling Ethan off Stiles. "Stop! I said stop!" When Aiden refused to let go Scott let his eyes turn red and roared. |
"Stiles" |
The alpha roar did it's job and Aiden backed off immediately, leaving Stiles panting and grabbing at his neck. "It's me, Scott. I swear, it's me. I don't know where I've been the last two days or what I've been doing, but this is me, I promise." Yeah that was a pack of lies. |
Ethan |
"You know what happened at the hospital?" With the electricity and the death and stuff? |
"Stiles" |
"I know more than that." Stiles pushed past the werewolves and went to open a black duffle bag he had brought. Inside were various tools, electrical wires, bolts. "See this?" he said, pulling out a map. "It's blueprints of the hospital's electrical wiring. You see everything marked in red? That's my handwriting. I know I did this, I caused the accident. Everything in this bag, it's all part of something that's bigger." The nogitsune did a good job of expressing the guilt he knew Stiles felt knowing what he did at the hospital. |
Ethan |
Ethan lifted up a tiny saw. "What have you been up to you?" |
"Stiles" |
"I think something worse," he said. "A lot worse." |
Aiden |
Ethan and Aiden started pulling out stuff from the bag. Aiden pulled out a handful of wires. "What the hell were you doing, building a Terminator?" |
"Stiles" |
Stiles rolled his eyes. "Thank you for that." |
Scott |
Scott pulled out some more folded up paper. He unfolded it and spent a few moments inspecting it. "Guys, this is a map." |
Ethan |
"Isn't that the cross country trail?" Ethan said, pointing at a marked line on the map. |
Scott |
"And that's the Tate car, where Malia's family died." |
"Stiles" |
"That's where her father put the steel jawed traps." Which would be...not good. Unless you enjoyed seeing people in pain. Which he did. A few minutes later he was pulling up to the edge of the woods in the jeep. Scott and the twins jumped out immediately, running ahead to stop the track team from setting off any traps. Stiles (or the nogitsune, rather) moved in clumsy, frantic movements towards Coach Finstock, flailing about like there was an emergency. |
Coach Finstock |
"Stilinski?!" These damn kids and their disappearances and sudden reappearances. "Where--" |
"Stiles" |
"Coach, listen close," Stiles said. "There's traps in the woods. Traps freakin' everywhere, and the track team is running right into them!" |
Scott |
Coach seemed to believe Stiles' explanation. Thank god, because Scott was having a hard time wrangling the track team. He had gotten Kira on board and now she, along with the twins, were trying to get everybody to slow their roll before they got their ankles chopped off. "Scott, stop stop stop! Coach, everyone stop!" |
"Stiles" |
Stiles stopped abruptly, holding his arms out to keep people away when he spotted a metal chain on the ground. "Hold on, hold on, wait a second." Now he knew the chain was nothing, but the nogitsune took his time lifting it up from the ground, acting like it could be a trap. To distract from the real trap, which was a trip wire only a few feet away. He even put up a decent frowny face when the chain led to nothing. |
Coach Finstock |
"Congratulations, Stilinski, you found a length of chain. Could somebody now please tell me what the hell is going on?" Coach stepped forward and didn't even hear Scott warning him of something. All he noticed was that a second later he had an arrow in his stomach. "Oh crap." And then he fell backwards onto the ground. |
"Stiles" |
Stiles rushed forward, immediately putting his hands on the wound. To slow the blood, of course, not to enjoy the feeling of blood gushing out of somebody. Really. Aiden and Scott crouched down beside him but luckily everybody else seemed to be giving Coach room. |
Coach Finstock |
"Get it out of me! Get it out of me!" Coach yelled. "Oh my god, I'm gonna die, get it out of me!" |
"Stiles" |
"Coach, Coach, you're not gonna die." Unfortunately. |
Aiden |
"It'll hurt less if you stop moving, Coach," Aiden said. |
Coach Finstock |
He would do no such thing! "I'm gonna dieeeeeeeeee!" |
"Stiles" |
Stiles looked over at Scott and nodded down at his hands. Come on, buddy, take the poor guy's pain away. |
Scott |
Scott nodded and placed his hands on Coach's arm. He started to take the pain away, wincing every few moments when it became almost too much. |
Aiden |
Soon Coach's whining lessened until he went limp on the ground. "I think he just passed out." |
"Stiles" |
Stiles pulled his hands away, shaking slightly when he saw all the blood on them. It was a pretty good act. "I--I could have killed him. I could have killed him--if it was his head or his throat--" |
Scott |
"But it wasn't," Scott said. "He's going to be alright." |
Aiden |
Aiden tilted his head to the side like a dog that heard something interesting. "I think I just heard an ambulance coming." |
"Stiles" |
Stiles lifted his head up to see an ambulance and another familiar car moving closer. "And my dad." That wasn't quite in the plans, but he'd deal. If he could fool Scott then he could fool the sheriff. |
Sheriff Stilinski |
If Sheriff Stilinski noticed anything different about his son, he attributed it to just the shock of what they had found during his MRI. Mostly he was too grateful to see him again to really focus on anything but relief. |
"Stiles" |
Stiles hugged his father back and made some excuses about where he'd been the last two days. He was more focused on looking at Scott out of the corner of his eye. Aiden and Ethan had found the wrapping paper he had put in the back of the jeep. Good. Now it was time for phase two. |
Scott |
Sure enough Scott was running towards the two Stilinskis a moment later. "Sheriff--I think whoever set the traps in the wood left a bomb on a bus. This person was the one who let Barrow loose, gave him all his ideas." |
Sheriff Stilinski |
"And Barrow's M.O. was leaving gift wrapped bombs on school buses," Sheriff Stilinski finished. "I'll call it in, have the buses at the school checked." Sure enough, minutes later Mr. Yukimura called in with the affirmative. A strange present had been left on one of the buses and a student named Jared had been unfortunate enough to pick it up. |
"Stiles" |
Which is how they all ended up at the school parking lot after Coach had been loaded up into an ambulance. The cops had set up a perimeter so Stiles couldn't see much (even if he knew there wouldn't be much to see) but he, Scott and the twins were as close as they could possibly get. Now Stiles knew that the "bomb" would turn out to be nothing but he was giddy with anticipation for when they did open it. Just imagining the look on the sheriff's face when he figured out where the real bomb was (and he'd figure it out, he was sure) was enough for him to be excited. |
Scott |
"Who's that?" Scott asked, pointing over at the cop that was donning bulletproof gear. |
"Stiles" |
"Deputy Parrish," Stiles answered. "He's new. Guess he's going in before the bomb squad." |
Scott |
Scott crossed his arms across his chest and focused his hearing until he could hear the deputy trying to talk Jared down from a panic attack while he opened the package left by Stiles. He frowned after a few moments. "There's no bomb." |
"Stiles" |
Yeah he had known that already. He watched the look on his father's face when Deputy Parrish pressed the sheriff's own name plate against the bus window. First shock, then understanding when he realized the little trick the nogitsune had played. "There's a bomb," Stiles said to Scott. "Just not here." |
