Mansion of Tiredness | Sunday Morning

After coming to in the woods yesterday Stiles made his way to the mansion, ignoring Derek's annoyed growls as he flopped down on the bed. He was too tired to deal with wolfy disapproval. The day was saved and he was fine, okay? No disapproval needed.

Now he was sound asleep, arm around what he thought was a cuddly wolf buddy. He was wrong. So, so wrong.

"You're going?" Derek asked, finally having gotten himself dressed properly. Because coffee had happened.

Red was going to miss coffee. Maybe she could buy a couple bags at the Perk and introduce it to the 1400's.

"I think it's time to try?" Red shrugged on shoulder, a little awkward. "We caught the guy causing everything. And it sounds like the trouble's stopped. Maybe I can't make it home today, but..."

But if there was no warning, like there'd been when she showed up, better to say good-byes now.

Derek nodded in understanding at that. Because he was a stoic little sap. "There's a room here if it doesn't work," he said with a shrug.

And that was him being nice.

Because he was nice. Under all the grrrrr. He needed to show that off more! Not just to people who scritched behind his ears!

Red smiled at him. "You know, you've been a couple different people since I got here, but I liked all of them. And I'm really grateful they all felt like they could take in a stray."

"A wolf needs a pack." And he was a big ol' softy.

"I think-- maybe you're right." Red sighed softly. "Maybe it's time I really went home. Not just back to my own time, but my own place."

There weren't many other werewolves in the Enchanted Kingdom that she knew. But pack could be humans, too. Snow would be having her daughter in a few months....

"It helps," he offered. "It keeps you in control."

"If you ever wind up back in time, though, you're welcome to my home. Or if you get blown into an Enchanted Kingdom."

Red gave him a smile, eyes crinkling. "I would hug you. But you might feel like you'd have to growl at me for it."

It's like she'd known him for years!

"Get going before whatever it is ends," Derek said, but the corners of his lips were turned up ever so slightly.

Which got him a squeeze of his shoulder, as Red turned for the door.

"Stay safe, Derek Hale. And ... good hunting."
