Falling asleep in a pile of chips hadn't been as uncomfortable as Stiles would have initially thought. Though the whole werewolf comforter might have had something to do with it, along with the whole pack togetherness thing. Even if this wasn't technically Stiles' pack.

This morning, however, brought on the awkwardness that Stiles saw coming all weekend and he was now trying to figure out a way to slide out of the pillow fort to make coffee without anybody noticing. It involved moving very, very slowly out from underneath his much bigger werewolf comforter and trying not to breathe too loudly.

"Yeah, it looked exhilarating," Jackson drawled, rubbing the back of his neck. This had been such a stupid place to fall asleep. "I'm heartbroken."

"Oh come on, even Isaac stayed in the fort." Before he had made his daring escape this morning. He had been more successful than Stiles. "Did you just sit here and brood all night?"

Yes.

"No."

Sometimes, he was a sad, issue-laden individual.

Yeah somehow Stiles wasn't believing that. But he had over ten years of Jackson experience to know calling him out on it would just be asking for a sassy insult in return. "Whatever, dude, I'm just happy you kept in control."

Jackson scoffed like that much should have been obvious. It really wasn't, though. It was getting a little easier to hold on to his anchor, but yeah. It still took effort.

He shrugged, then started to get up. "As hard as that was with annoying kids around."

"You have absolutely no right to complain," Stiles said. "I got cuddled, clawed at and there are chips down my shirt."

"Boo hoo." Excellent remark there, Jackson. "You made your choice."

Or he just didn't have Jackson's menacing air that kept children at a distance sometimes.

"Choice? I didn't have a choice," he said. "I was manipulated by adorable faces."

"Well," Jackson replied. "Might want to consider not being like that."

"Well we can't all be as cold blooded as you." Ha, kanima joke.

He got a predictably unimpressed, withering look at that.

"I'm gonna leave now."

"Have fun." They were such a loving pack.
