The Abandoned Distillery | Night
The question of where to find Deucalion was answered with no effort at all. Scott had been nice enough to send Jennifer a video telling her exactly where they were waiting. Slightly dramatic, but Scott was a werewolf. It came with a territory. It looked like the final showdown would be in the abandoned distillery. Again, dramatic, but with the revenge spiral still carved into the wall it was very appropriate.
Scott and Deucalion were waiting calmly for Jennifer, though their window of defeating her easily was closing as the time for the lunar eclipse got closer.

Scott and Deucalion were waiting calmly for Jennifer, though their window of defeating her easily was closing as the time for the lunar eclipse got closer.
Kitty Pryde |
There was really zero reason for Kitty to feel like any of this was going to go okay, and it was weird to be showing up with a side she really didn't agree with. She looked serious and game-ready, though, even if Scott got a brief wry 'fancy meeting you here' look. |
Scott McCall |
Oh the confusion on poor Scott's face. He clearly did not expect Kitty or Derek at all. "What are you doing?" |
Kitty Pryde |
"Things went quite a bit differently than expected," Kitty said by way of explanation, because she fully expected a monologue explaining it all. She was naming her first ulcer Jennifer. |
Derek Hale |
"This might be hard to believe, but we're actually trying to help you." Just...in a very strange way. |
Deucalion |
"Like brother against brother. How very...American this is," Deucalion said, sighing. He tilted his head in the direction he heard Kitty's voice coming from. "I'm not sure who you are, but you sound lovely." |
Kitty Pryde |
"You're not missing anything," Kitty told him. Somehow this guy wasn't what she'd expected in an alpha's alpha, which of course meant he'd be even eviler. |
Deucalion |
Deucalion nodded, allowing that. The more the merrier. Or something. "Are you ready Jennifer?" Deucalion asked, calmly folding his walking stick and putting it aside. "Gathered your herbs, prayed to your ancient gods and your oak trees?" He shrugged off his coat like he had all the time in the world. "Slit a baby's throat perhaps?" Deucalion's features shifted, fangs lengthening, eyes glowing red and his skin turning into a dark gray color until he resembled almost nothing like a human or a werewolf. "Shall we show them why you had to sacrifice nine innocent people just to face me? Or is it twelve now?" |
Jennifer Blake |
Jennifer's eyes widened to the point where it was obvious that, despite all the power she had, she was terrified. Seriously, were you people seeing this? He looked like a gargoyle. That was why she needed Derek. |
Kitty Pryde |
Kitty tended to hang out with people with physical mutations a lot, so she was the last person to judge or be scared of someone's appearance, though jeez, she was seeing a lot of things that tested that today. Not that she was trying to show that she really didn't want to be facing this guy. Even though she didn't. |
Derek Hale |
Derek, sweet innocent baby lamb Derek, immediately shifted over to his newly blue eyed beta form and attacked Deucalion without even thinking of a game plan. Which was Teen Wolf for you. So it should really be no surprise that he ended up with Deucalion's hands holding his arms down and making him immobile about three seconds in. Well at least you tried, honey. |
Kitty Pryde |
Gee, thanks for dragging them into this with the "I can't do this without you" stuff, Jennifer. Great to see that was working out. Kitty looked around, saw a piece of pipe or whatever that was laying around, and picked it up, going to try and hit Deucalion in the ribs with it. Someone maybe remembered what Stiles had told her about potentially breaking a hand punching Derek. |
Deucalion |
Deucalion let go of one of Derek's arms to grab a hold of the pipe, looking straight on at Kitty. Guess someone wasn't as blind as he claimed to be. He threw Derek across the room with one hand, turning his attention to Kitty. Hurting her would not draw Scott to his cause so instead he stuck with using the pipe to try to shove her away. |
Kitty Pryde |
She backed off, but if he thought he was keeping the pipe, she only had to phase it with her. "You hurt my friend, we're going to have a problem." Even if Derek started it. Sigh, Derek. |
Deucalion |
"There's only one person I want to hurt." You may have seen her before. Tall, brunette, sometimes shifted over into a gross monster with no lips. |
Jennifer Blake |
Jennifer took her chance while Deucalion was distracted and threw her hands out to use her powers against him...only nothing happened. Well, crap, it was almost as if she sacrificed those people for nothing. |
Deucalion |
Deucalion grabbed Jennifer by the throat, forcing her to her knees. He kept a firm grip on her neck as he forced her to face Scott. "Kill her. Do it." |
Scott McCall |
If anyone in Beacon Hills was capable of foresight, Scott might have seen this coming. Instead he just looked at Deucalion with a shocked look on his face. There was no way he was doing this. |
Deucalion |
Deucalion roared, using his alpha swag to force Scott into his beta form and make him more bloodthirsty. "Now kill her." When Scott didn't make a move to approach them he went on. "Your parents are dying. That storm you hear? She's burying them alive. It's her connection to the telluric currents, kill her and it ends." |
Jennifer Blake |
Jennifer sneered. "It won't end. Not with me. He'll have you kill everyone you love. It's what he does." |
Kitty Pryde |
As much as Kitty hated agreeing with Jennifer, the fact that Deucalion was trying to make Scott do this made her think what she said wasn't wrong. "You don't have to do it, Scott," she said. But then, she was generally a no-killing advocate. |
Deucalion |
Ladies. He was trying to do a thing here, jeez. "They're dying, Scott. Your mother, and the parents of your best friends." Deucalion's voice dropped lower because he was a dramatic kind of guy. "Kill her now and it's over. Become the alpha you're meant to be. Become a killer." |
Scott McCall |
"They're not dead yet." As much as he wanted to do anything to help his friends, he knew killing Jennifer for Deucalion wouldn't be the answer. |
Deucalion |
"And who's going to save them?" Deucalion asked. "Your friends?" |
Scott McCall |
"My pack." Scott stared Deucalion down, not really caring if the guy was all powerful and could turn into a giant gargoyle or whatever. |
Deucalion |
Alright, he had just about enough of this. Deucalion released Jennifer and in a blink of an eye he was at Scott's side, forcibly holding his claws out. "Maybe you just need a little guidance." And if that guiding meant dragging Scott claws-first to where Jennifer was, so be it. |
Kitty Pryde |
"Forcing him doesn't make him a killer," Kitty said, and while she didn't say the 'you jackass' it was totally there. |
Scott McCall |
"I won't do it," Scott said. "Besides, I forgot to tell you guys something. Something Gerard told me." Scott didn't wait for an answer. "Deucalion isn't always blind." And that is when Scott let off the nifty Argent flashbangs he was holding in his hand. Of course, like with all of Scott's plans, he forgot to tell anybody else about it so Deucalion wouldn't be the only person blinded. Sorry, everybody else in the room. |
Kitty Pryde |
As it turned out, trying to close your eyes really really quickly wasn't really a thing, and while she couldn't see for the moment, she covered her eyes just in case anything else followed. Or maybe she was facepalming, but who was going to be able to tell. |
Deucalion |
Okay, Deucalion was now starting to rethink his choices when it came to wanting Scott in his pack. He recovered from being blinded (again) remarkably quickly, but when he realized the reason for it he knew he was in big trouble. "The eclipse has started." That would explain the sudden blindness again. He couldn't shift now. |
Scott McCall |
Scott looked down at his hands, feeling human for the first time in a year. He looked around the room, seeing Deucalion, Kitty and Derek but there was one key figure missing. "Oh no." |
Kitty Pryde |
Scott, you were so grounded. Kitty was still blinking against spots in her eyes, but she could sort of see around them to at least see where people were. "We totally lost her, huh." Which was not a great thing when this was when she had her chance with depowered werewolves. |
Jennifer Blake |
Oh don't worry, she was coming back. After a quick costume change and some dramatic lightning! And also with an uglier face. |
Derek Hale |
Derek reached out to grab Kitty by the arm and drag her back behind some crates. She would definitely go after Deucalion first so it was no use trying to fight her when she was a woman on a mission. "I have an idea." And it was slightly better than Scott's idea! "Just let me talk to her." |
Kitty Pryde |
She would definitely take anything better than Scott's plan. "Go for it," Kitty told him, positioning herself so she'd be able to see from behind the crates. |
Jennifer Blake |
Derek's hunch had been right, Jennifer paid no mind to him or Kitty. With one well placed smack, she had Scott out of the way, thrown against the way and she could finally put her focus on Deucalion. She tossed him onto the ground and threw herself down beside him, grabbing him by the head with both hands and viciously slamming his skull into the ground over and over. If you hadn't known what a violent bastard Deucalion was, most people would probably feel pretty bad about a blind guy getting a smackdown like that. |
Derek Hale |
Derek decided this was his chance. "Jennifer, he doesn't know! He doesn't know what you really look like. He knows the cost of bringing Kali into his pack, but he's never seen the price you paid." |
Jennifer Blake |
Jennifer froze, looking over at Derek though it was hard to read her expression in darach form. "No, no he hasn't." After a moment's contemplation she placed a hand over Deucalion's eyes and used her powers to do that made him scream in pain. When she took her hand away a few seconds later Deucalion was silent, but blinking his eyes and wincing like even the light of the eclipse was too much for him. "Turn to me," Jennifer said, standing up to give Deucalion a good view of her. "Look at me!" When his eyes met hers she threw her hand back to use her powers to finish him but instead found herself unable to use them. Her legs crumpled beneath her as she felt herself go weak. But her features turned back to the human ones. Just because it looked nicer that way. "What's happening?" |
Derek Hale |
Derek was there to catch her before she hit the ground. "You're weak. Healing him weakened you, like healing Cora did to me. You won't have your strength for at least a few minutes." Yes, score one for Hale. |
Kitty Pryde |
Kitty liked you, Stiles' Derek. She slowly stood from behind the crates in case she was needed, since she doubted Jennifer cared what she was doing right now, but she didn't actually know if there was a step two to Derek's plan. |
Jennifer Blake |
Nope, that was pretty much the extent of Derek's plan. Again, Beacon Hills residents and plans don't work well together. Jennifer was almost dead weight in Derek's arms at the moment, but any idiot could tell that wouldn't last for long. "You do it then, Derek. Kill him." |
Derek Hale |
Derek frowned. Any chance he had with sympathizing with her was quickly going out the window. "No." |
Jennifer Blake |
Jennifer actually looked surprised that Derek was refusing her. Someone was delusional. "What?" |
Derek Hale |
"Like my mother used to say, I'm a predator but I don't have to be a killer," Derek said, right before grabbing Jennifer by the throat. "Now let the guardians go." |
Jennifer Blake |
Jennifer let out a frustrated yell before slamming her fist into Derek's face. She didn't stop, punching Derek with the same tenacity she had when she was trying to kill Deucalion. Her strength was coming back and the lunar eclipse was coming up. Derek didn't really stand a chance. |
Kitty Pryde |
Apparently the theme today was "beat on Derek, get hit with a pipe." This time Kitty went for the head, because she didn't think it'd kill her but weight stop her. Jennifer was actually probably lucky that after all the "I'm not a killer" stuff so far, Kitty wasn't inclined to phase the pipe into a vital organ and leave it there. |
Jennifer Blake |
The pipe did get Jennifer to step back from Derek, but it seemed to irritate her more than cause any damage. "I am getting really tired of you." She went to punch Kitty just like she had Derek because why wouldn't that work? Shh, she was a villain, she was allowed to forget stuff like phasing. |
Kitty Pryde |
Kitty just shrugged as Jennifer's fist passed right through her. "That's adorable," she said, and despite the pipe not doing much damage the first time, maybe it would work better if Kitty swiped at her midsection instead? |
Jennifer Blake |
This time the pipe did knock Jennifer to the side, though she did manage to keep on her feet for the most part. When she righted herself, she turned to face Kitty with a look on her face that suggested she was done playing around. "You want to see something cuter?" Jennifer's eyes glowed white and she threw out a wave of energy at Kitty. |
Kitty Pryde |
Dammit, Kitty hadn't expected that one, and that wave caught her before she even thought to phase. And then once she was flying backwards, she made the decision to take the hit rather than end up outside of the room. So don't mind her if she just hit this wall here. Or if it took her a second to sit up because ow. |
Jennifer Blake |
Aww, that made Jennifer smile. She started walking closer, arm raised up like she was going to take another shot at Kitty. |
Derek Hale |
Derek grabbed at that raised arm, yanking it down with the kind of force that didn't come from a human. He smiled at Jennifer and let his eyes glow blue. "Your fifteen minutes are up." And then he threw Jennifer across the room. God, that felt good. |
Kitty Pryde |
Kitty looked genuinely impressed at that. And kind of wished she could just replay that somehow just to see Jennifer get thrown across the room all day. "You're the best," she grinned, pushing herself up. |
Jennifer Blake |
As if Jennifer was about to be taken down by a quippy one liner and a hard landing against a concrete floor. She shakily stood up and threw a handful of mountain ash in the air where it landed in a perfect circle around her. Which was a trick someone needed to show Stiles at some point. "Like I told you before, Derek, it's either you or the parents. So I guess I have to take them now," she said. "In a few minutes they'll be dead and I won't need an eclipse to kill even a demon wolf." |
Kitty Pryde |
Kitty had never seen mountain ash before, but she'd heard about it and had a pretty good idea that that's what Jennifer had just thrown down. And while she knew Jennifer could do her some real damage, all Kitty really had to do was phase when she got close enough. "I can get her out," she murmured, taking a step towards the Jennifer. |
Derek Hale |
"Don't," Derek said. "If she does something to you in there we won't be able to get you out." |
Scott McCall |
Up until now, Scott had been staying to the side, dealing with the effects of his first total lunar eclipse, not being able to push past it like Derek had. But now he was back to his full power and he was really tired of having his mother's life threatened by bad guys. He approached the circle of ash with a determined look on his face, holding up his hands against the barrier and pushing slightly, like he was testing it out. |
Jennifer Blake |
Jennifer looked dubious. "You've tried this before, Scott. I don't remember you having much success." |
Scott McCall |
Scott ignored her, pushing against the barrier some more. A glowing blue light emitted from it, the mountain ash working it's magic against a werewolf. It didn't deter Scott any. His eyes glowed yellow and he pushed harder. After a few moments the light flickered, like the barrier was loosening slightly. |
Kitty Pryde |
So as it turned out, this was much cooler than Kitty trying this, even if she wasn't completely sure what was happening. Which was why her reaction was basically, "...Huh." |
Derek Hale |
Derek was right there with you, Kitty. He had no idea what the hell he was looking at right now. But it was kind of cool, yeah. |
Scott McCall |
Hey, people, you can do crazy things when your mom is being threatened with certain death. Scott pushed harder against the barrier until finally one foot was able to break through the circle. The success gave Scott the determination to finish the job, his eyes bleeding into alpha red as he gave everything he got into breaking the barrier. |
Jennifer Blake |
The force of the mountain ash circle breaking caused Jennifer to fly back, landing onto the ground hard. She looked up at Scott with a shocked look on her face. Really, could anyone blame her? It was Scott. "How did you do that?" |
Scott McCall |
And cue the required line... "I'm an alpha now." |
Kitty Pryde |
"Huh," Kitty said again. She was going to have questions later. She had them now, but it was not the appropriate time. |
Scott McCall |
Kitty, your reaction was about the same as 90% of people viewing this episode. "Whatever you're doing to cause the storm make it stop, or I'll kill you myself," Scott said. "I don't care what it does to the color of my eyes." |
Deucalion |
"It won't change the color of mine, so allow me." Deucalion was more than happy to take one for Team Good, especially when it came to this. He closed the distance between himself and Jennifer and with one clawed hand he slashed her throat open. |
Jennifer Blake |
Jennifer managed a few choked gaps, fingers clutching at her throat to try to stop the bleeding. Soon, however, she slumped onto the floor, her body shifting back to the darach shape before she stopped breathing for good. Or at least it looked that way. |
Kitty Pryde |
Kitty thought she should have seen that coming, but she really hadn't. For as much as she hated Jennifer, she'd really been hoping that no one else had to die here... and yet she couldn't feel that bad about it. Instead, she stayed quiet, listening for the storm. |
Derek Hale |
Derek was staring down at Jennifer and you could just tell there was going to be some angst from that later. Right now there were other things to attend to first. "Storm's slowing down," Derek said. "You should call Stiles or Allison, make sure they got to the nemeton in time." |
Scott McCall |
"I will. But first we have a loose end to take care of," Scott said, not so subtly nodding in Deucalion's direction. Remember the alpha that tried to kill everybody? He was still here. |
Derek Hale |
"That is something we need to discuss." Especially since there were three people in the room who followed a no-kill policy. Derek looked over at Kitty. "You mind keeping an eye on him while Scott and I go outside for a minute?" Deucalion looked pretty calm at the moment, so Derek was willing to take the risk. |
Kitty Pryde |
Hanging out with a sometime-gargoyle alpha she'd hit with a pipe? Sure, why not. "Not at all. We'll make friends," she said. No, they wouldn't. |
Deucalion |
Deucalion wiped his blood-covered claws on his pants. "Odds that they'll kill me? We could make a bet." |
Kitty Pryde |
"I'm not really a betting girl." Mostly because she knew they wouldn't. "You worried?" |
Deucalion |
"They let Derek's undead uncle wander around after he went on a mass-murdering spree," Deucalion said. "So, no, I'm not worried." |
Kitty Pryde |
And now she had more questions. "I'm not sure he was responsible for leaving a woman to die only for her to turn into a monster and come back and kill a bunch of people for revenge- including hurting their family members. And I bet he didn't try and make a teenager forcibly kill that same woman to make him part of the pack. So I wouldn't start feeling too comfortable just yet," Kitty said. She still knew he wasn't going to be killed, but she did want to remind him that he was a dick. |
Deucalion |
"Spoken like someone who doesn't know the whole story." Too bad he didn't really have the energy to get all demon wolf and dramatic at the moment. |
Scott McCall |
Luckily before story time could start, Derek and Scott came back. "I called Stiles, everybody's fine." |
Kitty Pryde |
"Good," Kitty said with a smile. And not just because she didn't actually care about Deucalion's story. "Did you guys decide something?" |
Derek Hale |
"We did," Derek said, crossing his arms and facing Deucalion. "My mother told me you were a man of vision once. We're letting you go, because we hope you can be that man again." |
Scott McCall |
Scott nodded. "But if you're not, then having your eyesight back won't matter. Because you'll never see us coming." He didn't seem to realize his threats made him look like a disgruntled puppy. Oh well. "Now come on," Scott said, gesturing to Kitty and Derek. "We have to go dig everybody out of a root cellar." Their lives, seriously. |
