Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital | Daybreak

Stiles was sitting in the ER lobby, waiting for one of the officers to come and give him the usual questioning when one was found at a crime scene. Sadly Stiles was getting used to that sort of thing.

Unfortunately, instead of getting one of the officers he knew well from his dad's office, he got an FBI agent who Stiles knew was a special kind of jackass.

"Just perfect," Stiles mumbled, scooting down in the chair. Maybe he wouldn't be seen.

Agent McCall
Agent McCall approached Stiles, looking about as thrilled to see Stiles as Stiles was to see him. "A Stilinski at the center of this whole mess, what a shocker. Think you can answer some questions without the usual level of sarcasm?"

Stiles Stilinski
Stiles pretended to think about that for a moment. "If you can ask the questions without the usual level of stupid."

Agent McCall
Agent McCall sighed. God, you were such a pain in the ass, Stiles. "Where's your dad and why hasn't anyone been able to contact him?"

Stiles Stilinski
"I don't know, I haven't seen him in hours." Let's be real, even if Stiles wasn't hiding the werewolf thing he wouldn't answer Agent McCall's questions. The guy had made Scott's life hell.

Agent McCall
"Is he drinking again?" See, he can be a jackass too, Stiles.

Stiles Stilinski
Stiles frowned. "What do you mean again, he never had to stop."

Agent McCall
"But he did have to slow down," Agent McCall reminded him. "Is he drinking like he used to?"

Stiles Stilinski
He had about enough of this shit. Since it would be inappropriate to deck an FBI agent Stiles decided to do what he did best. Be a little shit. "How about this, next time I see him I'll give him a field sobriety test, okay? We'll start with the alphabet, start with F and end with U."

Agent McCall
Agent McCall pressed his lips together for a moment, since slapping a kid upside the head would be inappropriate. "How about you just tell me what the hell happened here?"

Stiles Stilinski
Stiles shrugged. "I don't know what happened here, I was stuck in the elevator the whole time."

Agent McCall
Agent McCall crossed his arms over his chest. "You're not the one that put the name on the doors, are you?"

Stiles Stilinski
Now that was intriguing. "What name?"

When Scott's dad pointed towards the elevators Stiles immediately got up to investigate. The doors were opened when he got there but when he pushed the button the doors closed to reveal the name ARGENT written in large block letters. Oh they were in trouble.

He had to get to Allison's place.

Kitty Pryde
Since leaving the hospital, Kitty had gone back with Chris and Allison to their house, which she had to admit was a little weird since she'd just met them and also because she kept trying to remember things like which Argent Stiles had told her beat him up that time. But at least she'd had time to update Clint and get some clothes from Allison, and Kitty wasn't totally sure that Allison was getting these boots back, but that was an issue for later.

For the moment she was hanging around, checking out Chris' map of the town, since all she really knew of this place was that was in California, and also because she was trying not to seem too awkward here. She wasn't sure it was working.

Allison Argent
Professional new kid Allison Argent to the rescue to make things less awkward.

"You see these lines on the map?" Allison said, pointing to river-like squiggles on the map. "They're telluric currents. Apparently they're what draws the supernatural to Beacon Hills. Jennifer has taken, sacrificed and placed the bodies of all of her victims on different points of a current."

Too bad there were about a million of them in Beacon Hills.

Kitty Pryde
"That... sounds even more messed up than I thought," Kitty admitted, frowning at the map. The supernatural really was attracted to this place. That explained so many stories she'd heard. "So we just have to figure out which current she's using this time? That shouldn't be hard."

Liiiiiiiies.

Stiles Stilinski
Total lies. At least Stiles burst into the room dramatically before anybody could call Kitty out on it.

"We've got a problem!" he said in between wheezing breaths. Taking the stairs had been a terrible idea. "Also I've never been to you guys' new place, it's nice."

Kitty Pryde
"Oh god what." Like there could be any other reaction to that kind of entrance.

Stiles Stilinski
"Jennifer wrote the name of her next sacrifice on the elevator doors. The last guardian," Stiles said. "It said Argent."

Allison Argent
Allison immediately looked over at her father. "Dad, it's you."

Chris Argent
Chris, as per usual, didn't look very flustered. "The word is guardian, Allison, we all know that's not a role I've lived up to lately."

Kitty Pryde
Awkwardness of being the newbie with that kind of thing being thrown out, Kitty had to point out, "No offense, but I don't think she's going to count you out for that."

Stiles Stilinski
"Also consider the fact someone put your name in large block letters on the elevator doors. That kind of felt like a warning to me." Jennifer sure as hell wasn't referring to Gerard with that.

Allison Argent
"It might not be Jennifer. I think it might be Morrell warning us," Allison said. "She knows a lot more than she lets on and she might even be trying to help us."

Stiles Stilinski
"Well she needs to get on that a lot faster, okay, seeing as the lunar eclipse is less than two freaking nights away," Stiles said, flopping down in a chair. "My dad could already be dead."

Kitty Pryde
"He's not," Kitty assured him. "Jennifer's got a plan, and I don't see her deviating from it. I agree on the faster thing, though."

Chris Argent
"I agree," Chris said with a nod. "There's something about Jennifer's tactics, it's like she still positioning, still moving pieces in place."

Allison Argent
"And you're one of them," Allison reminded him. She was not above locking you someplace safe against your will, Chris.

Chris Argent
"Then lets not wait around to see her next move. You were right before, Kitty, Melissa and the Sheriff have to be somewhere on the current," Chris said. "We're going to need to split up in order to be able to cover enough ground."

Kitty Pryde
Kitty frowned. "Why does that sound like you want to go to find the person who wants to sacrifice you?"

Stiles Stilinski
"Yeah, no offense, but what's the difference between you and everybody else she's taken?" Stiles asked.

Chris Argent
Chris pulled a gun out of a desk drawer and loaded it. "I'm carrying a .45. Maybe she can take a few shots to the leg, a few slashes to the face, but personally I like to see how she holds up with half her skull blown off."

Those Argents mean business, clearly.

"We've got one priority right now and that is to find Melissa and your dad. We've got a map with every clue we need to figure this out. The only thing we don't have is time, which is why I need all three of you."

Kitty Pryde
As much as Kitty didn't like this plan, uh. Chris seemed kinda prepared. She looked over at Stiles and Allison, since they were the ones with parents at stake here.

Stiles Stilinski
Yeah Stiles didn't care who you were, that entire speech was hot. He was officially sold on the Chris Argent plan. "Where do we start?"

Chris Argent
"The places the sacrifices have been committed are usually different from where the bodies have been found," Chris said. "I think the placement has to do with the strength of the current. So with that in mind, it seems the strongest places are the school, the animal clinic and the bank."

"Now she wouldn't use the same place twice...unless she didn't succeed the first time."

Allison Argent
"Scott's boss," Allison said. "He was supposed to die at the bank, but Stiles' dad got to him in time."

Stiles Stilinski
Stiles shook his head. "That's just one place so far, we're going to need a lot more help."

He pointed a finger at Kitty. "And we're not calling anybody else from home."

Because Derek would literally kill him. Maybe Clint too. Or maybe Clint would kill both Dereks.

Kitty Pryde
"I'm right there with you," Kitty agreed immediately, thinking something along those same lines. She didn't think anyone would get killed, but there might be warning shots.

Allison Argent
"What about Lydia?" Allison suggested.

Chris Argent
"Lydia?" Chris asked. "What can she do?"

Stiles Stilinski
"Uh, Lydia's got sort of a talent." Sure, we'll go with that. "She somehow ended up finding a couple of the bodies, uh, without actually looking for them."

Kitty Pryde
Kitty raised her eyebrows, but didn't actually think that was too weird. Sucky for Lydia, but not weird. "Is she psychic?" she guessed.

Stiles Stilinski
"She's something," Stiles said. Hopefully in a tone that pulled off 'I'll tell you later but not in front of the hunter with a .45'.

Chris Argent
"Fine. Call her. You search the school, and we'll head for the bank," Chris said with a nod. "But first we need to get ready."

And that was when Chris and Allison basically started pulling out guns, knives, arrows and various other weaponry seemingly out of nowhere in their house.

Seriously, how was it even possible to hide an armory like this in such a tiny place?

Kitty Pryde
Okay, yeah, Kitty was not concerned about Chris anymore. Also, that was kind of fun to watch.

"Think you've got enough?" she asked.

Stiles Stilinski
"I thought you guys were supposed to be retired," Stiles added. Because this was...not so retired.

Chris Argent
"Retired, yes. Defenseless, no," Chris said, strapping yet another gun to a thigh holster. "Make sure your phone's on, if you hear from Scott let us know immediately."

Stiles Stilinski
Stiles frowned. "Yeah I'm thinking that's going to be kind of unlikely."

Chris Argent
Chris looked at Stiles' and Allison's equally disappointed faces and tried his hand at the grown adult parenting thing again. "Both of you try to remember he's just doing what he thinks is right."

There. Parenting.

Kitty Pryde
"And that you can yell at him a lot when we get him back," Kitty said. She wasn't exactly an optimist, but thoughts like that had always helped her in situations like this. When in doubt, yell.

Isaac Lahey
Someone who would definitely not approve of anybody yelling at Scott cleared their throat from the doorway.

"Um, hi." So awkward, Isaac. So awkward. "I can't shoot a gun or fire a crossbow but I am getting pretty good with these."

Look at those pretty werewolf claws.

Chris Argent
Chris resisted the urge to roll his eyes. Werewolves were so dramatic. "You can come with us to the bank. Stiles, you and Lydia are still on the school."

Isaac Lahey
Isaac seemed pleased with that decision. If only because he got to hang out with the hot girls. Speaking of-- "Hi, Stiles' friend."

See, he picked up she was Stiles' friend. Points for him. Also he just got back from yelling at Derek. More points for him.

Kitty Pryde
"You can just call me Kitty. It's shorter," she said with a little smile. "And my name."

Chris Argent
"Trust me, don't encourage him," Chris advised. Isaac's middle name might very well be Hungry Eyes. Chris found it very unsettling.

"Alright, everybody, let's head out. We're short on time."
