Okay, Stiles wanted to at least be a little bit impressive with his final project in Dr. Lecter's class, which would be why he wasn't going to write a paper or make peanut butter and jelly. Instead he had asked his dad to send one of his mother's old cookbooks and was attempting to make knedle serowo-truskawkowe. It was something she used to make for him and Scott when they were kids.

"Attempting" being the key word here. The first batch for his trial run was a burnt mess so now he was starting over, getting a fresh sheen of flour all over everything in the kitchen. It covered up the chunks of unused dough and smushed up strawberries from the first batch nicely.

At least he hadn't tried to make golabki. Then the kitchen would stink like cabbage in addition to being a mess.

Well. The flour was pretty dirty. So. There was that.

Derek rolled his eyes, only swaying slightly from all the force being exerted on him. With one last shove of flour down the back of Stiles' shirt, he let go.

The last time he had goofed around like this had been when he'd still lived with Laura.

"Joke's on you, I'm wearing your shirt!" You just can't have nice things, Derek.

DAMN IT.

"It's not my favorite shirt," Derek countered, shaking his head to get some of the flour off his face. Yes, like a dog.

Stiles smiled despite himself because that really was ridiculously adorable. Goddammit, Derek. "Well you're still the one that's gonna wash it."

Ugh, you're the worst.

Derek shoulder checked him as he went to fill up a pot with water for cooking the dumplings. Really, you two. Really?

"I'm only allowing this kind of violence because you're cooking for me," Stiles said. "Any other time and I'd kick your ass."

Derek turned around, eyebrows way up there on the Derek Hale Chart Of Incredulity. It was probably an 8 out of 10. Because that was something he'd very much like to see Stiles attempt, thank you.

"Put those sassy eyebrows away," Stiles said. "Actually, don't. 'Cause then you would be all werewolfy. Where do your eyebrows go anyway?"

To his sideburns, duh.

"It's not a good look for anyone," Derek muttered in a manner that was completely defensive as he set the pot on to boil.

"I've seen worse looking werewolves than you," he said. "Isaac is the fugliest werewolf I have ever seen in my life."

"You should see the female werewolves," Derek replied dryly. There was a reason Talia and Laura stuck with the actual wolf mode.

Maybe that was why he was so fugly, though. His delicate, feminine feature just weren't made for this life.

"I've seen several, actually," Stiles informed him. "And Isaac's still the ugliest."

"And I'm better than Isaac." Who still sounded shady. "Thanks."

Sarcasm always helped.

"Hey, if push comes to shove I would say you're the best looking one when it comes to werewolf faces," Stiles said. "It's a compliment!"

That kind of comment did get Derek to pause awkwardly for moment before shaking it off. "You have too much free time."

"And you don't?" he asked. "You're doing a teenager's homework right now."

"You were ruining my kitchen." Mike's kitchen.

[robinonadderall]

"I was not ruining it," Stiles said. "I would have cleaned it later."

"Like you cleaned up after your TiVo marathon?"

[robinonadderall]

"That was clean!" It was clean according to Stiles.

"I'm still finding Coke cans hidden places!"

[robinonadderall]

"Maybe they were your Coke cans, did you ever think about that?"

Derek was giving serious thought to scalding you, Stiles. Seeeerious thought going on here.

"That's your best excuse?"

"Why, do you have another one I can use?" he asked.

Derek rolled his eyes, asking werewolf Jesus to grant him strength. "I could always eat the dumplings and leave you with no project.
