Even after 20 years, some things didn't change. Stiles still refused to use his first name, he still talked in his sleep and he still liked to sleep cuddled up next to Derek. Only now he didn't have to hide the fact that he enjoyed it. Even if he did complain about Derek being a cuddler for old time's sake sometimes.

"Scratchy," Stiles mumbled, nowhere near fully awake when he said it. Being married to a living spacer heater meant Stiles actually slept with his shirt off more often than not which gave Derek more area to massacre Stiles with stubble burn. It made Stiles look like he had some weird rash most of the time.

[For the now husband and the other person in the house! And anybody else that wants to knock on the door I guess]

"Aw, thanks," he said. "I'm glad whatever happened to you didn't happen to me. I don't want to be that pale and gangly teenager again."

"Yeah, I'm still not sure it's me that anything's happened to."

Shhh, Mike, don't reason with the affected. You have more interesting things to think about.

"... Wait, am I the youngest person here right now?"

Stiles' eyes widened, like he hadn't thought about that before. "Yeah, you are. Weeeeeeird. Can I call you kid now?"

"No," Mike said, as if he could stop it. "That's too weird."

Like everything else wasn't.

"It's weird not seeing you all ancient." You were over 50 where he was from, Mike, that was really kind of old.

"I'm not gonna get ancient."

Well, at least he didn't ask whether he was still hot when he was over fifty.

"And you're supposed to be a scrawny teenager."

[robinonadderall]

"Oh those days are long gone," Stiles said. "I mean, I looked like I was twelve until I was thirty, I'll give you that, but I grew out of it eventually."

Okay, Mike had to snort at that. "And dare I even ask how old you're now?"

[robinonadderall]

"Thirty-eight," Stiles answered. "Derek's forty-two."

[newroutines]

"Holy shit."

He didn't even want to think of himself getting that old. He was sure he'd be fine with it once it happened, but right now, yeah, no.

"... Oh God, I really am supposed to be well middle-aged when y'all are that age, aren't I?"

"You're over fifty." SORRY, MIKE.

Mike pulled a face.

"Oh, that is so not okay. Nope."

[robinonadderall]

"You don't look completely gross," Stiles offered. "If that makes you feel any better."

"A little. I guess." Because he was a little bit vain like that. As maybe evidenced by his terror at getting older. He scratched the back of his head. "Still doesn't make any of this any less weird."

"Dude, I woke up in a bed I haven't been in years and my dead dog is suddenly alive again, that's weird."
