Kind of Trashed Mansion | Thursday

After getting the hell scared out of him by Kate last night Stiles risked the glaring of his life to go check in on Derek at his house. At least he told himself it was just to check in. It certainly had nothing to do with having violent Argent flashbacks from last month and wanting to be somewhere safe. Nope. Not at all.

Even the safety aspect of this was iffy because you had to have been blind not to notice the bullet holes around the place. Stiles managed to coax Puppy Joe out from under the couch and took him up to Derek's room for much needed cuddling. Which eventually turned into sleeping. 'Cause there was something about Derek's bed that made him pass out for some reason.

And Stiles was still there the next day. Comfort zone reasons aside, it was the best place to wait for Derek. If he ever came back.

[Open for the occupants of said house, yes. And calls too!]

"At least he was smart enough to stay away from the bar last night," Stiles said. "Kate was in full on creeper mode and that was even before I told her I was Derek's boyfriend for some reason."

"Not the wisest move I've made."

Mike made an amused sound despite himself. It came out sounding a little bit hollow. "Somehow I'm not surprised."

"Dude, I thought it was gonna scare her off but it actually made her more touchy," he said. "Literal touchy, not emotional touchy."

"Ugh." That just covered everything, didn't it? "I wish I'd called the cops on her."

He really did. Not that he thought that would have even helped.

"I kinda doubt it would have done anything," Stiles said. "These kind of people operate outside the law."

"I figured."

He'd been around enough people who operated like that in his life. Thankfully not this specific kind, but anyway.

"And I wasn't sure that wouldn't have just somehow gotten Derek in trouble too."

"Derek does have something of a record now." Thanks to him, whoops. "Besides Kate's family has this vengeance thing going on. They probably would have beat the crap out of you for sending her to jail."

"Great," Mike drawled, scratching the back of his head. "Well, at least she's probably gone now? Maybe?"

"I'm guessing she is," Stiles said. "It would be kind of stupid to stick around when people know who she is now."

"Especially considering how pissed most of us probably are."

Which was kind of amazing with Derek's social skills.

"She didn't find me intimidating. Like, at all." Such was the life of Stiles. "But the rest of you guys look scary, yeah."

Mike... really couldn't imagine Stiles being all that intimidating to anyone, either. Sorry, Stiles.

"I kind of feel like getting another lock for the door, to be honest."

"Couldn't hurt," Stiles said with a shrug. "Just so long as I get a key to it, of course."
