Nameless House | Friday Afternoon

As of  this morning Stiles was no longer a teenager. Twenty didn't feel too different from nineteen though he did have a minor crisis over the last few days that would be much more appropriate on his twenty-fifth or thirtieth birthday. How did this getting old thing happen? Who allowed this?

Ignore the fact that he still had a babyface and probably would until he was forty.

At least he had classes this morning to make him feel young. And homework to do this weekend. He tossed his bag on the floor of the living room when he got home, deciding he could worry about that on Sunday night. It was his birthday he shouldn't have to do homework.

"I'm so proud of you, growing vegetables," Stiles said. "And here I thought you'd figure out how to make a bacon tree."

"I could see if the neighborhood allows pigs..." And then grow attached and be unable to kill it.

"We are not keeping a farm in our backyard," Stiles said, leaning back on his elbows. "The smell alone..."

"You sure?" Derek teased, crouching down to pat the loose soil. "Maybe a few chickens..."

"You build a hen house and I'll let you have chickens." He was a loving future husband like that.

[justlurkinghere]

"I could build a hen house." In no way could he build a hen house. He could hire people go do this, but was about it.

[robinonadderall]

"You go ahead and do that then," he said with a smirk. He in no way believed Derek would build a hen house himself.

Okay, time to back track a little. "I could build a dog house."

He could build a dog shanty that Puppy Joe would shun.

"You really think Puppy Joe would lower himself to sleeping outside?" He wasn't some peasant dog!

[justlurkinghere]

"Maybe." Not in the slightest. "It'd be good for him to toughen up a little."

Wolf Derek would be the only one using that dog shanty, let's be real.

Aw and wolf Derek probably would only be able to fit his head in the shanty.

"Where's this shirtlessness I was promised?"

And the neighbors would be concerned that they were mistreating the giant, black dog that only saw on occasion when it was really just Derek being stubborn.

Derek rolled his eyes, but stripped for him without much hesitation. You trained your man well, Stiles.

"Oh baby," Stiles catcalled. "Best birthday ever."

Derek threw the shirt at Stiles' head. "I'll be shirtless all summer if it drags you out here with me."

"But my sensitive pale skin." Did you want a sunburned fiance, Derek?

[justlurkinghere]

"I'll put up an umbrella if you want," Derek replied with a laugh. "Maybe see if we can fit a pool back here..."

"Maybe," he said with a nod. "Would add to the value when we sell the place."

He was twenty for all of twelve hours and he was speaking like an adult.

An adult who watched too many home improvement shows. As long as they didn't start discussing an open floor plan, they should be safe, though.

"Might need higher fences, though."

Because Derek would totally go skinny-dipping.

"Plan on scaring the neighbors?" Stiles asked.

[justlurkinghere]

"Plan on not giving them a show," Derek replied, going to flop down next to Stiles for another kiss.

Stiles kissed Derek back, lazily running a hand down his bare chest. "This part of gardening?"

"Yep," Derek replied with a grin. "We're keeping an eye on the garden in case rabbits try to eat things."

[robinonadderall]

"I was wondering about that," he said. "What will you do about the potential rabbits that try to eat your vegetables?"

[justlurkinghere]

"I was kind of hoping Puppy Joe would try to chase them, but that doesn't seem likely."

Mostly because those bunnies were larger than him.

"The rabbits would probably try to eat him."
