Beacon Hills High | Morning

Stiles
It didn't take long for Stiles to arrange a portal to Beacon Hills. After the night before he felt the need to check in and see how Scott and Allison were. After dropping off a bag at his dad's and grabbing a key to his car (he missed his jeep already) he headed to the school.

Yeah Beacon Hills High had the same terrible security it always had.

It didn't take long to find Scott. It was kind of hard to ignore the guy who looked to be running away frantically from his own shadow. Stiles ran to catch up to him, grabbing him by the shoulders when he could. "Hey! Hey!"

Scott
Scott jumped when he felt hands on him, but luckily his instinct to push away didn't kick in. He was too busy looking behind him to make sure his shadow was human-shaped again.

"Stiles?" Scott said once he was satisfied he wasn't be chased. "What are you doing here?"

Stiles
"Checking up on you." And clearly it was needed. "Are you okay? You don't look okay."

Scott
Scott shook his head. "No, I'm okay."

Because being unable to shift and being chased by creepy shadows was totally okay.

Stiles
"No you're not," Stiles said. "It's happening to you too. You're seeing things, aren't you?"

Scott
Scott frowned. "How did you know?"

Lydia
"Because it's happening to all three of you," Lydia said, stopping behind the boys with Allison in tow. "Well, well, well, look who's no longer the crazy one."

Allison
"We're not crazy," Allison said. Despite the fact she had just seen her dead aunt fifteen minutes ago.

Lydia
"Hallucinations, sleep paralysis, yeah you guys are fine." Mmm sarcasm.

Scott
"Well we did die and come back to life," Scott said. "There's bound to be some side effects, right?"

Stiles
"Keep an eye on each other, okay? I'm gonna call Isaac down here while you guys are in class." Much as Stiles was loathe to admit it, he was part of the pack. "And Lydia, stop enjoying this so much."

Scott
Scott gave Lydia and Allison an encouraging smile before heading down the hallway with Stiles. They still had a few minutes to hang out before class started. "We just need some more time for things to get back to normal."

Stiles
"Dude, I have been dealing with this for months. Months. And it's not getting any better," Stiles said. "Try not to forget we hit the reset button on a beacon for supernatural creatures, I don't think there's a chance of things getting back to normal."

Scott
Scott sighed and leaned against his locker, becoming momentarily distracted by a cute girl down the hallway. He was fairly sure he'd seen her in his history class before.

Stiles
Meanwhile Stiles had been fiddling around on his phone, frowning when he realized he couldn't read the names off his contact list. When he lifted up his head to see if Scott had noticed his rising heart rate he almost had a minor heart attack. "Scott, your eyes."

Did he not realize he was flashing red ones to anybody that passed down the hall or...?

Scott
"What about them?"

Stiles
"What about them--dude, they're glowing!" Could you not feel that?!

Scott
"You mean right now?!" Scott tried to duck his head down and will them away but nothing seemed to be happening.

Stiles
"Yes, right now!" Stiles hissed. "Stop it! Scott, stop it right now!"

Scott McCall
"I can't!" Scott said, starting to panic. "I can't control it!"

Stiles
"Alright just--keep your head down," Stiles said, pulling off his jacket and putting it over Scott's head. "Come on come on come on!"

He started leading Scott down the hallway, hoping people would just ignore this weirdness. Like they ignored all the other weirdness.

Scott
Once they were in the safety of a classroom Scott pulled away from Stiles and put as much space between each other as possible. He pulled his jacket off, feeling too hot and uncomfortable in his skin.

"No, get back, get away from me!" Scott said once he saw Stiles trying to move forward. "I don't know what's going to happen, you need to get back!"

Stiles
"Okay," Stiles murmured, moving back. His hand went to his phone just in case he needed to call somebody for help. He didn't know who since there were no other werewolves around and he couldn't read his contacts anyway but whatever.

Scott
Scott groaned and hunched over, fangs coming out and claws starting to come through. He felt his body starting to shift and change and Scott was terrified of the fact that this might be his body trying to move over to alpha form. He couldn't let that happen.

Finally he remembered something Derek said ages ago that helped him make the very painful decision to dig his claws into his palms.

He was at least able to keep his screams in for the most part, even as his claws went straight through his hands.

Stiles
"Oh god!" Stiles was not ready for that. His stomach lurched but he didn't feel like he was going to faint at least. "Scott..."

Scott
The pain at least was causing Scott to calm down. It only took a couple moments for his claws and fangs to retract and another minute more for his eyes to return to normal. Finally Scott slumped to the floor, breathing heavily but looking completely human again.

"Pain makes you human," Scott murmured. Just so Stiles didn't think he was nuts.

Stiles
Oh. Well that was good and terrifying to know.

"Scott, this isn't just in our heads. This is real," Stiles said shakily. "It's starting to get bad for me too. I'm not just having nightmares; I'm having these dreams where I have to literally scream myself awake. Sometimes I'm not even sure if I'm ever actually waking up."

Scott
Scott frowned. "What do you mean?"

Stiles
"You know how you can tell if you're dreaming? You can't read in dreams," Stiles said. "More and more these last few days I've been having trouble reading. I can't see the words and I can't put the letters in order."

Scott
"Like even now?"

Stiles
Stiles stepped forward, eyes scanning the posters on the walls and the words on the chalkboard. To him it was still just a jumbled mess.

"I can't read a thing."
