Not Even Remotely Creepy Mansion | Thursday Evening

Stiles had immediately regretted sending that text last night, but what was done was done and he couldn't take it back now. Well he could chicken out now, but he wasn't about to. If only because he didn't want to be accused of taking Puppy Joe hostage.

So he grabbed the dog after it started getting dark and headed over to the mansion to get this over with. He was at least nice enough to shower beforehand, out of courtesy and because he didn't want Derek to think he had been in a moping spiral for the last two weeks. Which he had been, but that was beside the point.

And look! He even rang the doorbell for the first time ever.

[For Derek! And SP since I have to work later]

"You don't need to pay for anything," Stiles said. "My dad and I can manage."

He didn't know if his dad would accept that kind of money from Derek anyway.

Probably not. As it was creepy.

"Fine." He got you a fancy laptop. So deal with it.

"Thanks though," he said. "For offering."

Derek shrugged because all his money was blood money. And not particularly wanted.

Which led to another awkward silence. As one does.

"Are you okay with all this?" he asked. Stiles realized he was kind of steamrolling him right now.

"Are you?" This is why you don't offer to pay for someone's college, Derek.

Also, Derek was the one who had been a bag of dicks here.

"I'm the one pushing you here, dude," Stiles said. "That kind of indicates that I'm all for it."

Yeah, but he was attempting to be the mature one. Failing, but you know...

"Stick to the rules and fine."

[robinonadderall]

"I would like for you to eventually be more than fine with it," Stiles told him. "But, you know, only if you want to be."

He really didn't want to force anybody into liking him.

"I stopped eating bacon." Just, you know, throwing that out there.

[robinonadderall]

Stiles gave him a small smile. "You're totally into me."

"Unfortunately," Derek replied, looking ever so slightly pleased by the smile.

[robinonadderall]

"I'm not saying this won't be awkward sometimes." Because, really, they'd have to change how they were around each other re: couch cuddling and everything. "But we'll make it work."

Which was going to be interesting to see happen.

Well, they stopped with the spooning before. So. It couldn't be too difficult, right? Right?

"Maybe stop sharing clothing." Since that was also weird.

"You're wearing my clothes right now." So...

[justlurkinghere]

...well, this was awkward.

"They were clean."

[robinonadderall]

"Uh huh." Like he was gonna believe that. "I think sharing clothes is fine."

Derek sighed. "Am I supposed to feed you now?"

Or was that too much like a date?

"Do you want to feed me?" He knew how you were, Derek. Oh he knew. "It's been awhile, do you even remember what I like?"

"Anchovy pizza, right?"

[robinonadderall]

"Veggie pizza, yes." Well at least the time apart hadn't done anything to their flirting abilities.

They were just special like that. And Derek was resolutely pretending it wasn't flirting at all.

Because it was just talking about pizza.

"I'll order. You know where drinks are." Then, he paused half way to the phone. "I'm sorry."

And then quickly fled.

Well he couldn't see the shocked look on Stiles' face because of the fleeing. Stiles did manage to pull himself together to murmur an, "It's okay."

He knew Derek would hear him.

They had their perfectly healthy methods of making up. That involved awkward flirting and pizza.

Despite the whole knowing where the drinks were, he shoved a water bottle at Stiles once he returned. "It's not. You should know that."

Because even with his issues, he knew what he did was so, so wrong.

Stiles shrugged. "I'm still pissed, but it's not like I'm not going to forgive you."
