Not Even Remotely Creepy Mansion | Thursday Evening
Stiles had immediately regretted sending that text last night, but what was done was done and he couldn't take it back now. Well he could chicken out now, but he wasn't about to. If only because he didn't want to be accused of taking Puppy Joe hostage.
So he grabbed the dog after it started getting dark and headed over to the mansion to get this over with. He was at least nice enough to shower beforehand, out of courtesy and because he didn't want Derek to think he had been in a moping spiral for the last two weeks. Which he had been, but that was beside the point.
And look! He even rang the doorbell for the first time ever.
[For Derek! And SP since I have to work later]

Ugh he sucked at being mad.

"Yeah." Oh, the intelligence of that response! It was dazzling!

"Were you ever planning to talk to me again?"

Did you not realize how creepy and fucked up that was for Derek to feel, oh, anything? Because it was. And he was so kindly repeating that cycle thanks to Kate.

Maybe he should go back to Morrell and see if she would emissary therapy him about his self-esteem problems.
"But you were the one that brought it up. You started this."

"I know that now," Derek snapped, moving away for some pacing. Then paused. "What is that supposed to mean?"

"You don't even know what you're saying," Derek replied, quickly putting distance between them again.

This had not been in Stiles' plans for the evening, but he was finding it to be a much more preferable way to go than being angry and bitter all night.

Couldn't they just go back to when he thought Stiles was only interested in his body? That was way easier to deal with.

"You don't actually know that," Stiles said. "I mean, true, we both lead the sorts of lives where one or both of us dying at a young age might be a foregone conclusion, but that's a risk that's going to be there whether we're together or not. Why not make an attempt to be happy before that happens?"
no subject
"You actually want to do this." Well, that came out more a statement than question. Even though he looked confused.
