It was time for another campus visit trip, this time to a state that didn't completely suck. The tour wasn't actually until tomorrow so that left Stiles with a whole evening to watch TV and take advantage of Derek's credit card by ordering a ton of room service.

What? At least he was sharing.

"Ugh. I got pepperoni on the bedspread."

Derek rolled his eyes from the other bed, not looking up from the very nice pamphlet about the school. It was full of diverse students who smiled a lot and apparently always played frisbee. Yeah, he didn't think he missed out on much by skipping college now. "You're paying for that."

"The pizza or the sheets?" he asked.

"The sheets." Let's be real, Derek. That wasn't happening.

"They're not gonna charge you for getting pizza on the sheets," Stiles said. "I'm sure worse things have happened on this bed."

"Don't remind me." Ugh. Hotels.

Stiles rolled his eyes. "You could have said no when I asked you to come here, you know."

"I didn't say that. If you didn't want me to come, you could have just said so."

Wow, you two. Wow.

It was going to be one of those nights, wasn't it? And they were doing so well on Christmas.

"Obviously I want you to be here," he said. "I wouldn't have asked if I didn't."

Excuse you, they were having a completely mature night. So mature.

"Well, I want to be here," Derek snapped. Maturely.

"Well good." Such a mature evening, yes it was.

"Good," Derek replied. Because mature.

He huffed, dropping the pamphlet onto the bed to grab some food before Stiles ate it all.

Excuse you, he wouldn't eat it all. Just the majority of it.

"What do you think about the area so far?" he asked.

[justlurkinghere]

"It's nice," Derek replied with a shrug. Just go to the school that was a short drive from Fandom. Because he had all the issues.

Yeah. That was healthy.

"I feel like I'm not fashionable enough to be around here." It was Orange County after all.

[justlurkinghere]

"I thought nerd was in," Derek replied dryly, taking about half the pizza to turn into a cheesy sandwich of artery clogging goodness.

"Hilarious," Stiles said. "And that's gross."

Big talk coming from the open mouth chewer.

Derek ignored that in favor of licking grease off his thumb.

"Clothes are easy to change." Yeah, you keep giving Stiles an out.

"Yeah but personality isn't," he said. "It might be Beacon Hills High all over again. I didn't start making friends there until werewolves started trying to kill me."

"Stay away from the local pack," Derek said with a sigh.

[robinonadderall]

"It's not like I try to find these things on purpose," he said. "Well not anymore. Back before I knew this stuff existed, yeah, I had the habit of trying to find weird stuff."

You know. Like half a dead body in the woods.

You mean Derek's sister? That body?

"Try to avoid that at college."

"I'll do my best," Stiles said. "I'm sure I'll have enough excitement between Beacon Hills and Fandom to look forward to in the future, I won't need it at school."

"A normal environment," Derek said, finishing off the pizza. "Maybe Florida would be better."

Ugh. Florida.

"Nothing about Florida is normal." Nobody could deny that. "I don't think normal's possible in any place I happen to be in. The nemeton stuff is going to follow me around no matter what."

Derek took that as his cue to retreat to his bed again. Because Nemeton.
